BNSF Derailment
The NS unit was 3rd in the consist with the
4479, so yes, I believe it was sided-swiped by the 4059, or the
force of the collision caused it to derail.
In the crash video, you can clearly see that
the camera train has a red over green ('diverging clear') as he
approaches Kismet Siding. The other (oncoming) train on the
mainline rolls into the turnout and you can see the signal
switch to red-over-red just before the camera loco reaches it.
Too late, though.

Bad train wreck
On June 6, 2001, 26 car loads of autos (210
autos) derailed as a result of a broken spring bolster. The
train was the V MCILAC8 04. The accident was at MP 407.5, main 1
at Eagle Nest, AZ.
